Mobile Home Landscaping: Target These Areas To Prepare For Spring
When it starts to warm up, the spring cleaning and reorganizing bug is basically inevitable. And if you haven’t felt it already, it’s probably coming soon. So today, we’re going to give you a few ideas for how to put the “bug” to use, and even better, a way to combine it and get out and enjoy the fresh spring weather. Here’s how you can prepare your mobile home landscaping for spring.
Flowers and plants
If you’re looking to add some color and texture to your mobile home landscaping, flowers and plants are a great place to start. Whether you have flower boxes already or are looking to put some in, the following steps will help you prepare them for spring.
1 – Pulling weeds in flower boxes
To begin with, this is one of the easiest ways to spruce up the landscaping around your mobile home. Plus, the results will be sure to please! Getting those little rebel weeds out, and away from choking your plants won’t be hard. And you’ll definitely be happy with how it looks in the end. Next, we’ll take a look at filling your flower boxes with new mulch.
2 – Filling your flower boxes
You might be surprised just how much some new mulch or fresh dirt will brighten the look of your flower box. Bagged mulch can be bought at a home improvement store. Or if you have a lot of flower boxes to fill, consider finding someone who will deliver a load of it straight to you. Once you’ve acquired your new mulch, you can either put it directly on top of the old mulch, or you can remove the old stuff and start fresh.
3 – Planting new flowers
If you don’t have anything planted already, some flowers would be a great addition. If your flower boxes are in a shady area, this shade garden kit will be just the thing. And you can order it without leaving the comfort of your home. For boxes in direct sunlight, tulips are always a great idea. They will come up year after year, without you having to do anything!
Once you decide what flowers are right for you and they’re planted, all you have to do is wait for them to come up. And your job is complete!
Walkways
Are your walkways lined with stones or the like? Then they probably got a bit misplaced or kicked around throughout the winter. A simple way to add some pizazz is to line those stones back up. Or better yet, get some new ones. It doesn’t have to be expensive though. You might find some in your yard, near the river, or even from someone giving theirs away.
If you can save a few bucks by not buying brand new ones, that’s a sure way to score points with your wallet. Otherwise, you can find them inexpensively online or in a home improvement store.
While you’re at it, why not consider a few new walkways to give your yard a fresh look?
Fencing
Another way to get your landscaping looking ready for spring is to apply a new coat of paint to your wooden fence. To take it a step further, try a new paint color. You can even try putting a few colors together. Gray and white are classy. This practical combination will also give your house a charming look.
Water
Have you ever had a pond or birdbath in your yard? If not, now might be the time to add one! Adding a pond, and maybe a few fish would give a completely different dynamic to your yard. Similarly, a bird bath would be a fantastic addition to your outdoor space. It’s bound to attract many beautiful birds. Place it outside a window, so that you can enjoy the wildlife from outside and inside!
Grass
Throughout the winter, your yard and grass may have gotten muddy and torn up. It probably doesn’t that fresh look anymore.
One way to remedy this is simple. Throw down some new grass seed on the bare spots, cover it with a layer of hay or straw, and then wait. Of course, you need to make sure foot traffic stays away from those areas for a while. This will ensure they get a good chance of growing. Soon, you’ll have fresh new grass and a beautiful looking yard!
Another way is to buy artificial grass or sod plugs. They’re fairly simple to use, and learning to care for them is easy.
